Overview
The intention of this program is to provide immediate, short-term assistance during a time of life-threatening or potentially life-threatening circumstances. After immediate assistance is provided, alternative support services and referrals will be identified for Members to approach for further assistance. This service will only be available to Members who are experiencing an extreme life change, or crisis as a short term assistance solution.
Eligibility Criteria
- Members will be required to meet the following eligibility criteria.
- They have exhausted all their funds (excl. funeral & culture)
- Their situation can be verified by providing relevant supporting documents.
Application Process
- Members to complete an emergency assistance application form detailing the emergency situation.
- Member to provide required supporting documentation.
Documentation Requirements
Applications will not be assessed without relevant and up to date documentation to verify eligibility and to support their application.
Examples may include:
- Income Statements
- Relevant Financial Records
- Medical Records and Support Letters
- Emails from other Trusts
- Police Reports
Members may be eligible for assistance up to $1,200 based on the urgency of the request and meeting the eligibility criteria. Each application will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and approvals on these applications are at the discretion of GAC.
