Overview

The aim of the Banjima Charitable Trust (BCT) Healthy Living Project is to address the everyday charitable needs of the Banjima People. Goods and services are paid for directly to suppliers to assist Banjima People to maintain a reasonable standard of living.

The Healthy Living Project allowance is $4,000 per Beneficiary for the 2023-2024 financial year.

The project will run from 3 July 2023 to 30 June 2024.

Guidelines/Policy

The goods or services being applied for will provide a direct positive impact on the Member’s life. Decisions around these applications are at GAC’s/AET’s discretion and are based on the individual circumstances of that application and whether the assistance will result in improving the health and wellbeing of the Member.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this assistance, you must be:

  • a registered Banjima Beneficiary; or
  • a registered Daisy Beneficiary

Supporting Documents

  1. Program application form
  2. Tax invoice or quote (preferably in GAC’s name)

Items available under the program

  1. Household expenses and everyday cost of living (bills, groceries, fuel)
  2. Household items (cooling and heating devices, whitegoods, cooking appliances, linen, furniture)
  3. Health, sports and recreational activities
  4. Medical and dental costs (surgery, travel to appointments, mobility vehicles, but excluding cash for carers’ costs)
  5. House improvements including swimming pools, landscaping, rubbish removal, housing deposits
  6. Mobile housing (such as caravans, camper trailers)
  7. Removals costs
  8. TVs
  9. Cleaning services
  10. Pharmaceuticals
  11. Day care and after school care (excluding cash payments to carers)
  12. Housing/caravan park rental and mortgage payments
  13. Firearms for hunting (with valid license and registration according to firearms laws and regulations)
  14. Tools and equipment
  15. Purchase of vehicles and vehicle loan payments
  16. Vehicle parts and repairs
  17. Accommodation (special circumstances only with support letter)
  18. Pet purchase
  19. Funeral costs
  20. Lore and culture meetings
  21. Other requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis

  1. Cigarettes
  2. Alcohol
  3. Cash payments (including for rent, boarding and credit cards)
  4. Reimbursements
  5. Legal costs
  6. Fines/penalties/criminal-related costs
  7. Dirt bikes/boats/jet skis
  8. Alcohol and tobacco products
  9. Gambling
