The aim of the Skills Development Program is to support Gumala Members who are looking for employment and are wanting to upskill themselves with the aim of securing employment and/or advancing their career. The program offers funding for recognised courses, tickets and licenses that will assist Members to achieve pathways to employment and build on existing qualifications and skills. The program will run from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021.
Individuals who are looking for employment may access the funds to secure tickets, licences and other training by making direct contact with the Employment and Skills Development Officer.
They will be guided and assisted in resume development and career path identification before being offered the opportunity to access funding to cover the cost of training/licences for the identified employment path.
Funding is available to cover costs of training programs, courses and tickets offered by registered organisations in Western Australia. The maximum value that individual Members may access from this program is $3,000.
Members must successfully complete a training program/licence acquisition before again accessing funding under this program. The maximum level of funding per member will be $3,000.
The Employment and Skills Development Officer will arrange for enrolment and payment of the training with the preferred vendor once confirmation of consent has been received from the Member. This will be provided by way of email correspondence or phone communication between the Member and the Employment and Skills Development Officer.
GAC will request evidence from Members of completion of all training/tickets and licences acquired.
GAC may request additional evidence or supporting documents at its discretion.
